Despite being just over 10 kilometers away from Da Nang and nestled in the heart of Son Tra Peninsula, Nhất Lâm Thủy Trang Trà remains relatively unknown to many tourists and locals alike.
Nhất Lâm Thủy Trang Trà – Tranquil Oasis amidst Son Tra Peninsula
Essentially, Nhất Lâm Thủy Trang Trà is not a resort but a community-driven area focused on forest conservation and care. As a result, this area is rarely featured on tourist maps, known primarily to locals and adventurous travelers passionate about exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations.

Initially known as Trường Mai Ecotourism Area, it was later renamed Nhất Lâm Thủy Trang Trà – a name that evokes romance, surrounded by mountains, water, and perpetual greenery.

The road to Nhất Lâm Thủy Trang Trà is winding, leading travelers along the path to the summit of Bàn Cờ Tiên, where they must turn left at the intersection to ascend to the highest peak of Son Tra Peninsula. The journey involves navigating steep inclines and precipitous drops, presenting a challenge to visitors. However, flanked by lush greenery on both sides, the road offers panoramic views of the vast ocean and the city of Da Nang in the distance.

Due to its deep location within the mountains, Nhất Lâm Thủy Trang Trà remains secluded, allowing the natural scenery here to retain its pristine beauty. Only a handful of locals and adventurous travelers, fond of exploration, are aware of this place.
A visit to Nhất Lâm Thủy Trang Trà promises many exciting experiences such as exploring the Nai stream and the famous thousand-year-old fig tree. Because of its resemblance to a deer, the fig tree is commonly referred to as the 'stag fig tree' or the 'deer fig tree.' This fig tree was once hailed as the 'Eastern deity's eye' and proudly became Da Nang's first heritage tree several years ago.

Standing over 20 meters tall with 9 sprawling roots plunging into the earth, the fig tree's trunk splits into two, resembling the front and hind legs of a deer. Its branches spread wide, reaching high like the majestic antlers of a deer. The peculiar shape of the fig tree piques the curiosity of many visitors who venture to this place.

Near the intriguing fig tree lies the Nai stream. During the dry season, visitors can spot stacked rocks, providing a perfect spot to sit and admire the scenery while listening to the sounds of the mountain forest. Additionally, there are several makeshift shelters by the Nai stream for travelers to take a break and try their hand at fishing in its depths.

A special treat awaits visitors here – coconut wine, a distinctive beverage crafted and aged within coconut shells. It boasts a subtle sweetness with hints of aromatic fermentation, carrying the inherent essence of coconut.

Not too far from downtown Da Nang yet still retaining its wilderness, Nhất Lâm Thủy Trang Trà is an ideal destination for travelers seeking peace and harmony with nature after days of study and work exhaustion.
