Samsung continues to lead the charge, setting trends for the entire smartphone industry at present. While other companies scramble to find new competitive advantages, Samsung confidently pushes forward its foldable smartphone segment, dominating the number one market position for years.
The upcoming release marks the third generation of foldable smartphones, set to be officially unveiled on August 11th. Not only exceptional in quality but also attractively priced, the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 this year boast a wealth of new technologies, anticipated to be Samsung's most impressive generation yet. Below are the compiled leaks regarding the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3, let's delve into discovering the differences, check it out to find the option that best suits you!
What are the prices of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3?

According to Sammobile, the price of this duo will be significantly reduced by up to 20% compared to the previous generation, specifically, the Z Fold3 will be priced at 1,600 USD (approximately 36.8 million VND) and the Z Flip3 will be 1,200 USD (approximately 27.6 million VND). The difference between these two models is still noticeable and, naturally, caters to different needs.
Previously, the Z Fold series had a high price (50 million VND in the Vietnamese market), so it can be said that it has not been widely adopted by users, while the Z Flip's price is comparable to other flagship models from other manufacturers.
The price reduction is a welcome sign for users, as we can now experience the latest smartphones at more affordable prices.
Each product holds its own value, however, the Z Flip3 will be a more mainstream choice because, after all, the price is considerably lower, under 30 million VND.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3: Design Differences

Both devices utilize inward-folding screen technology, but the Fold3 boasts a large-screen format equivalent to a tablet, whereas the Z Flip3 leans more towards fashion.
Speaking of design language and finish, there will no longer be overly protruding, sharp-edged camera modules, but rather, they will be more softly curved.
The Flip3 will stand out with its flush rear camera module, resembling the approach taken by some 2021 Galaxy models. There are a total of 2 cameras placed in the top left corner, and the color of this section also differs from the rest of the back.

Many sources have almost confirmed that both of these duos will have IPX8 water resistance standards, quite impressive for foldable smartphones.
Moreover, the Galaxy Z Fold3 will support the S Pen, so it can be inferred that the durability of the screen has been significantly enhanced.
What's great about the screens of Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3?

According to leaks, the Galaxy Z Fold3 will still feature two screens, a 6.2-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner display when unfolded. The most frequently asked question is whether the outer screen will be upgraded to a 120Hz refresh rate.
The first-generation Z Flip was good but unfortunately only had a 60Hz display, so the Z Flip3 will succeed it and address this shortcoming. So far, there's been plenty of leaks about the outer side of the Flip3, but not much confirmation about whether there will be a hidden camera on the inner side.

Samsung will continue to be one of the manufacturers with the best displays in the world, and the foldable display segment will certainly be no exception. Therefore, the display quality of the AMOLED panels on this duo is sure to impress.
Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 with the most powerful chips

At this point, it seems that the Galaxy Z Fold3 will have a slight edge. Both devices use the Snapdragon 888 processor, but the Z Fold3 will have the advantage in better thermal management, not to mention it will come with 12 GB of RAM, with some speculations suggesting it could go up to 16 GB, ensuring excellent performance for multitasking.
Meanwhile, the Z Flip3 will feature 8 GB of RAM, similar to its siblings in the Galaxy S21 series. But rest assured, this configuration is already quite powerful.
There is information about the upcoming Snapdragon 888+, which Qualcomm is set to introduce, but many experts believe it will not appear in the Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3.
What upgrades do the cameras of Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 offer?

The leaks have nearly fully disclosed the important specifications of this duo, summarized as follows:
Both devices will feature a 12 MP main camera sensor. The Z Fold3 will have 3 sensors including the main camera (12 MP as mentioned), ultra-wide-angle, and telephoto lenses. Meanwhile, the Z Flip3 will have 2 rear cameras, the main sensor, and an ultra-wide-angle camera.
On the front, the selfie camera will also have a 10 MP resolution. An interesting leak is that the Galaxy Z Fold3 will have an under-display camera with a resolution of only 4 MP. Both devices will utilize the outer screen for taking selfies, so if you're not satisfied with the front camera quality, it won't be a problem.

Overall, Galaxy Z Fold3 is likely to excel in capturing multiple modes thanks to its multiple lenses, and the large screen is also a plus for more flexible photo and video editing.
New Software Enhancements on Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3

Samsung commits to 5 years of software updates, including 3 major Android versions for its flagships, so longevity shouldn't be a concern!
This year's software improvements will heavily focus on multitasking multiple apps on the large 7.6-inch Fold3 display. Additionally, optimizing features across various apps when folding Fold3 and Flip3 at different angles will enhance functionality in various applications. I find this feature works really well when taking photos.

Hopefully, Samsung will collaborate more with app developers to optimize display space rather than just enlarging it (like Instagram, for example).
Samsung typically collaborates with Microsoft to optimize office applications specifically for the Fold series and Samsung DEX mode. Let's see what surprises the company will bring this year.
Will you choose Z Fold3 or Z Flip3?

My answer is that there's truly no smartphone that's better than another, it's just whether it fits your needs or not.
Galaxy Z Fold3 still maintains the advantage of being a powerful work smartphone with a large unfolded screen, not to mention this year it's also supported with the S Pen, so it seems to be optimized for work needs.
As for Flip3, it will lean towards being a smartphone suitable for the majority of users. It's compact enough to fit in your pocket, with a stylish design that catches everyone's eye when you unfold it to check messages. And I believe this device will sell very well because this year's price is quite good already.
