To insert chips into Google Docs, simply go to Insert => Smart chips => Place within Google Docs. This feature is now available for all Google Docs and Workspace users.

Furthermore, Google Docs users will soon be able to add drop-down chips and table templates to their documents for easier collaboration in projects. The drop-down chips allow users to track the status of their documents or add important milestones to the project.
Now users only need to type '@', followed by a term, emotion, object, etc., to display the emoticon menu. Alternatively, input '@:' or ':' to view a list of emoticons and navigate to the entire emoticon category.
