Nowhere Prophet is a challenging single-player card game with randomly generated maps, high difficulty, and permanent deaths. Only the most skilled can survive each round, and very few make it to Crypt. Each member of the deck you collect, purchase, or trade is a person, a loyal beast, or a machine crafted to assist you in traversing the wasteland. They all have names and specific relationships. However, be careful not to let them sustain two consecutive wounds because they will perish and be permanently removed from your convoy.
Although a challenging game, Nowhere Prophet is captivating. Sharing everything with your people and demonstrating kindness along the way will be difficult. You will have to make tough decisions on the journey, but it will create a strength that allows you to achieve your goals. Choosing evil is easy, but your convoy will struggle in battle without a glimmer of hope. There will also be many ways to interact with the world, uncover hidden knowledge, religion, and even others on the same path to Soma.
During your journey, you'll navigate through a randomly generated map. Be mindful of your resources as you choose your path. Some routes are undoubtedly more perilous than others but are also better regarded. Your decisions while you travel will hold significant importance. As you journey, you'll also encounter various unfamiliar locations and even strangers. Each event will be influenced by those accompanying you. You'll also find yourself in situations where their fate lies in your hands.
If you're lucky enough to earn a reward for helping someone, consider creating a turning point or robbing someone along the way, then invest in improving your deck. This could help you gain more followers, grasp some luxuries to cling to hope for your escort, or obtain a new set of armor/weapons to make your prophet stronger.
You'll need to defeat enemies to protect your escort and resources. Choosing how to fight is also crucial even if it's just to gather some new spoils of war! Fight to turn the game into a turn-based strategic card game - where you must win to survive. Control the card troops to elevate your followers to new heights and defeat your enemies, or use skills to change the battlefield. However, be very careful: If you get injured, you'll have to find a safe place to heal, and if one of the followers gets severely injured, you'll lose them forever.
