Núi Tà Cú - An appealing spot for backpackers visiting Phan Thiết
Located along National Highway 1A in Thuận Nam town, Hàm Thuận Nam district, 28km south of Phan Thiết city, Núi Tà Cú is a mountainous marvel with an elevation of 649m above sea level. The scenery here is pristine and majestic, featuring overlapping mountain ranges and an ancient pagoda peeking through the forest.



The climate around Tà Cú remains refreshingly cool throughout the year. During spring, visitors can delight in the sight of golden apricot and fragrant red bombax flowers blooming across the mountainside. Various trees such as sandalwood, agarwood, and cypress cover the mountain. The cool, clear stream flowing from the rocky crevices adds an extra layer of fascination to the natural landscape.



There are two ways to reach the summit of Núi Tà Cú. One involves ascending over 1,000 stone steps, taking nearly 3 hours to reach the top. This option is favored by adventurous travelers with good physical fitness.


The second method takes only 15 minutes to reach the summit and is both quick and convenient - the cable car. Sitting on the cable car, besides not expending any sweat, travelers can also enjoy the sensation of gliding above the lush green old trees and blooming red silk cotton trees, admiring the vast green forest.

At the top of Núi Tà Cú, there are two renowned temples: Linh Sơn Trường Thọ and Long Đoàn Pagoda. Here, the statue of Buddha Thích Ca and Buddha Niết Bàn, reclining with knees on hand and back against the mountain, can be found. This reclining Buddha statue is considered one of the largest in Southeast Asia with unique architectural artistic value.



Standing atop the high mountain, watching the drifting clouds in the cool air, it feels as if you are under the sky of Da Lat, and all fatigue seems to vanish.

The Tà Cú cable car system comprises two stations: the lower cable car station and the upper cable car station, a spacious square along with extensive supporting areas. The cable car route is 1,600m long, 505m high, with 35 automatic opening-closing cabins.

At Tà Cú tourist area, there aren't many entertainment activities, just recreational fishing, water cycling with swans, and electric cars.

How to get to Tà Cú Mountain
Tà Cú Mountain is located along National Highway 1A, in Thuận Nam town, Hàm Thuận Nam district, 28 km south of Phan Thiet. If you're traveling from Saigon to Phan Thiet on National Highway 1A, upon reaching Thuận Nam town, near the Thuận Nam elementary school close to a three-way intersection with a sign for the Tà Cú tourist area, turn right onto that road. Drive straight for a short distance, and you'll arrive at the Tà Cú tourist area.
