Valve's strategic ambition for Steam Deck as the product poised to dominate various markets.
Shortly after the grand unveiling of Steam Deck, Valve discloses plans for the evolution of Steam Deck 2. The second generation of this machine promises superior traits and enhanced user-friendliness.

Details shared by Valve's top brass, Gabe Newell, in an interview with Edge Magazine. Gabe highlights that community feedback played a pivotal role in the decision to develop Steam Deck 2.
The head honcho of Steam reveals that many users are willing to pay a premium for an upgraded version of Steam Deck. In terms of processing power, user-friendliness, aesthetics—everything is open to improvement, and gamers are fully accepting of a higher price point.
With a starting price of 349 Euros, there will undoubtedly be some sacrifices in performance. However, Valve's Steam Deck aims to smoothly handle a plethora of games, targeting around 30fps at the native resolution of 800p.
While the second generation promises more powerful performance, it's not the sole improvement Valve is considering.
According to Gabe Newell: 'One aspect that Steam Deck showcases is the ability to utilize both robust performance and battery life, enabling usage in VR applications. You can take a PC and assemble something that's more portable. We haven't truly delved into that yet, but it's certainly a promising step forward.'
