Not only simple to make but also nutritious, this fragrant and delicious rib congee is suitable for all ages, from adults to young children.
Using familiar ingredients, with a bit of effort, you can create a flavorful, tender, and smooth rib congee just like those from a restaurant.
Ingredients for Rib Congee:
- 500g lean pork ribs
- 400g delicious fragrant rice
- 200g fresh mushrooms
- Seasonings: salt, broth seasoning, sugar, pepper, and minced garlic
- Spring onions, shallots, and coriander
- Sesame oil
How to make rib congee:

After the water foams, pour out the dirty water, add 1.4 liters of clean water, place the pot on the stove, turn on medium heat, and simmer for about 1 hour to create sweet broth and tender bones.
After simmering the bones for 1 hour, add ½ teaspoon of salt, 1.5 teaspoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, and then turn off the heat.

Vừa nấu, vừa khuấy đều tay rồi cho thịt vừa tách vào nấu cúng. Nếu bột đặc quá, bạn có thể thêm nước sao cho cháo vừa, không quá loãng, hay quá đặc. Sau cùng thêm nấm bào ngư vào nồi rồi nấu nhỏ lửa khoảng 30 phút.

Wait for the congee to boil for a while, then add 2 tablespoons of diluted minced garlic, stir well, and season the congee.
Continue cooking for about 30 minutes until the congee becomes thick and sticky. Season with salt and fish sauce for a rich flavor.
Now, scoop the congee into a bowl, add fried shallots, spring onions, coriander, and enjoy.

Note:
During the bone simmering process, remember to frequently skim off the foam to remove impurities from the broth.
