Departing from Saigon for approximately 300,000 dong, you can embark on a 2-day 1-night journey to explore Ó Island – a land of simple yet breathtaking beauty that will leave many in awe.
Ó Island: An Untouched Paradise Awaits in Đồng Nai
Ó Island, also known as Chim Ó Island, is one of the untouched islands, not yet heavily exploited. Located in Vĩnh Cửu district, Đồng Nai province, Ó Island emerges amidst Trị An Lake with a peaceful and tranquil beauty. The island's scenery with its lush green trees and beautiful beaches will be an ideal place for travelers to camp, stroll, and enjoy.

There are various modes of transportation to get to the island such as buses, taxis, and motorcycles. For backpackers, you can choose this route: Go along the Hanoi highway to the Trị An intersection, turn left onto DT 767, go about 18km to the center of Vĩnh An town, then turn right onto DT 762 to Đồng Trường ferry terminal. From here, you just need to rent a canoe or boat straight to the island.

If you take the bus, catch route number 12 (Ben Thanh – Giang Dien). Get off at the Trị An intersection, then take bus number 19 to Vĩnh An town, Vĩnh Cửu district. Get off at the last stop and walk about 800m to Đồng Trường ferry terminal.

The round-trip canoe fare is 130,000 dong per person, while the boat is slightly cheaper at around 110,000 dong per person. Each trip to the island carries about 5 people. It takes about 40 minutes to travel across Trị An Lake to reach Ó Island.

Stepping foot on the island, visitors will be amazed by the scenery of lush greenery and colorful flowers. The path around the island is sometimes shaded by tall trees, sometimes dotted with butterflies and flowers in the gentle breeze. At the end of the island, the waves still gently lap the shore, where you can immerse yourself in the cool, clear water of the lake.

For many young people, exploring Ó Island means not only experiencing the beauty of nature and enjoying the fresh air around Trị An Lake but also trying out activities such as water slides, swings, canoeing, jet skiing, and of course, spending a night camping and having a bonfire, which are essential parts of the trip here.
