OBS Studio 29.0 has been released on the early public beta channel earlier today. This update brings anticipated features such as multimedia key support on Linux, AMD AV1 encoding for AMD RDNA3 GPUs, Intel AV1 encoding for Intel Arc GPUs, Intel HEVC encoding, a three-band equalizer filter, and audio compression filter.
OBS Studio 29.0 pledges to support media locking on Linux and adds support for AMD/Intel AV1 encoding.
In addition, OBS Studio 29.0 promises various other improvements such as support for SRT and RIST encoding and output authentication, enhancements to NVIDIA video and audio filters, optimizing Replay Buffer memory limits, right-click and 'Inspect' functionality, muting individual browser docks, FFmpeg VA-API support, and Qt 6.4.1 support.

Another noteworthy change in the upcoming OBS Studio 29.0 update is the default NVENC output switching to P5 to enhance compatibility and performance, eliminating automatic numbering on Multiview labels, ensuring stable dynamic bitrate, and adding a slide count to the Source Toolbar when presenting images, facilitating screen recording for users.
Alongside are bug fixes to address issues with asynchronous filters, improve Decklink preview output performance, resolve issues with CQP speed control for SVT, AOM AV1, and AMD HEVC encoding, as well as fix UHD/4K YUV capture issues when activating the AJA Kona HDM card.
Users can now download OBS Studio 29.0 beta for testing. However, since this is a beta trial version, errors and issues may still occur, such as OBS having no sound, not displaying on the screen, etc., so Mytour advises you to consider carefully.
