Every morning, after fulfilling the duty of waking everyone up, our household rooster leads the hens and chicks in search of food. He uses his sturdy legs adorned with shiny golden scales to scratch the ground. Whenever he spots any insects, he promptly uses his strong beak to snatch them up and invite the hens and chicks to feast. He looks quite dashing at that moment. Following this, he seeks out an empty spot with soft soil and warm sunlight for a sunbath. Occasionally, he enjoys it so much that he may doze off for a while.

The cat often lounges lazily in the sunny courtyard. At such times, it appears quite indolent. However, once it wakes up fully and begins its activities, it becomes incredibly agile. It playfully chases after a paper flower rolling with the wind in the courtyard. It dashes to the base of the guava tree, then deftly climbs halfway up before quickly descending. Sometimes, I catch it stealthily stalking its prey in the kitchen. It remains silent and patiently coils up, waiting. This silence deceives a small mouse hiding in a corner of the kitchen. The mouse cautiously peeks out, retreats hastily, then peeks out again and crawls out completely. The cat pounces and captures the mouse in an instant. The mouse finds itself ensnared within the cat's sharp claws. It breathes heavily, its eyes wide open in a mix of surprise and confusion, as if trying to comprehend what just happened and planning its escape route. The cat releases the mouse in the middle of the kitchen, pretending to let it go. The mouse thinks it's safe and scurries away hurriedly. Yet, in a flash, the cat catches up and seizes it again. Eventually, the exhausted mouse succumbs and meets its demise.
