Many readers of One Piece express disappointment as King the Wildfire is swiftly defeated by Zoro.
As seasoned fans of One Piece, we've grown accustomed to the gripping battles spanning multiple chapters, providing excitement for avid readers. However, this essence seems to be diminishing in the Wano arc as battles unfold rapidly and somewhat hurriedly.

In the latest One Piece chapter 1036, recent revelations show that King has been vanquished by Zoro's attack. This leaves many readers feeling disillusioned as, in the eyes of many, a commander under the Four Emperors with the strength and background like King should engage in a prolonged battle with Zoro. However, Oda appears to be keen on swiftly concluding such conflicts to focus on the impending clash between Luffy and Kaido.

In reality, the battle scenes in the Wano arc are leaving many readers somewhat disappointed because Oda skims, condenses, and accelerates the pace during clashes between Straw Hat crew members and the Tobi Roppo forces. From Nami to Robin to Jinbei, all swiftly overpower their adversaries. The stakes are raised further as Queen, one of Kaido's two strongest commanders, is effortlessly defeated by Sanji. Now it's King's turn, a commander introduced with great pomp, background, and power, yet also swiftly taken down by Zoro.
Consequently, on various social media platforms, readers express significant disappointment with Oda's seemingly rushed storytelling. Many readers argue that King deserved more exposition than Queen, perhaps an additional chapter and a few flashbacks, to convey their disillusionment with how the initially grandiose clashes introduced in the Wano arc culminate rather anticlimactically.

On the flip side, many other readers express empathy for Oda's approach, stating that 'One Piece excels in its storytelling, world-building, and character development rather than in fight scenes. Series like Naruto at least employ tactics, with the pinnacle being Hunter x Hunter. Therefore, if you're a One Piece reader, don't expect much in terms of fighting and intense struggles.'

In reality, the battle scenes in the Wano arc are leaving many readers somewhat disappointed because Oda invests considerable time in introducing formidable antagonists, from the Tobi Roppo to the trio of commanders, only to have them swiftly defeated. This is understandable as Oda himself has mentioned that if he were to pursue everything he envisions, it would take much longer for One Piece to reach its conclusion. It seems like the author Oda himself intends to fulfill his promise of ending One Piece within the next 5 years, doesn't it? What are your thoughts on this? Feel free to share your opinions!
