
1. Official 2023 Lunar New Year Holiday Schedule
On the morning of 1/12, the Government Office issued a letter stating that Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam approved the proposal for a 7-day Lunar New Year holiday by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs.
Civil servants will officially have a break 2 days before Tet, 3 days after Tet, plus 2 days on the weekend. Specifically, the holiday will start from 20/1/2023 (Friday) of the Gregorian calendar until 26/1/2023 (Thursday) of the Gregorian calendar (corresponding to the 29th day of the 12th lunar month to the end of the 5th day of the first lunar month).

The holiday schedule applies to civil servants, but the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs encourages businesses to apply it to employees and notify at least 30 days in advance.
Agencies and units implementing the holiday schedule must organize their departments reasonably to handle continuous work, serving the organization and the people.
Workers who work overtime or night shifts during holidays and Tet are entitled to a minimum salary increase of at least 300%. Foreign workers in Vietnam, in addition to the 11 days off, also enjoy an additional day off for traditional Tet and their home country's National Day.
