The bestselling MacBook series on the planet gets an upgrade with the M2 chip.
1. Apple Officially Introduces the New MacBook Air 2022
Speaking of Macbook, at the WWDC 2022 event, Apple officially unveiled the new MacBook Air 2022 with the M2 chipset. True to the rumors, the MacBook Air M2 features a redesigned, more modern appearance, squared edges, equipped with a notch display, and a higher price tag.

2. Design of the MacBook Air M2
The MacBook Air M2 features a design quite similar to the MacBook Pro 14-inch, including a larger screen with thinner bezels, measuring 11mm thin and weighing 1.22kg. Thanks to the new design, Apple can equip the MagSafe 3 charging port, along with 2 Thunderbolt USB-C ports and a 3.5mm jack. Unfortunately, it still lacks an HDMI port or an SD card slot like the Pro version.

Contrary to iMac or various iPad Air models, the MacBook Air M2 doesn't offer a wide array of youthful and vibrant color options; instead, it sticks to four basic choices: gray, silver, starlight, and deep blue.

Regarding its display, the MacBook Air M2 sports a 13.6-inch screen, maintaining a similar overall size to the M1 version but with slimmer bezels and the addition of a large 'notch' on the screen. Apple claims the Liquid Retina Display on the Air M2 reaches a brightness of 500 nits. Compared to the 14-inch Pro model, the bezels aren't as thin, and naturally, it lacks the ProMotion 120Hz feature.

The MacBook Air M2 retains its fanless design, thanks to the new M2 chip, which boosts the machine's performance by over 40% compared to its predecessor. The M2 chip in the MacBook Air boasts an 8-core CPU and up to 10-core GPU.

The webcam is also a noteworthy upgrade on this year's MacBook Air generation, featuring a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, along with an improved microphone system and higher-quality speakers that support Dolby Atmos.

Thanks to the M2 chip, the MacBook Air still boasts impressive battery life, lasting up to 18 hours of offline video playback. The machine supports charging via MagSafe 3 or through its 2 Thunderbolt USB-C ports.
