Schedule for New Year's Day Off for Workers
For employees working in units with a weekend break on both Saturday and Sunday, the New Year's Day off in 2024 will extend for 3 consecutive days, starting from December 31, 2023, to January 1, 2024.
For those working in units with a 1-day or 1.5-day break per week (Saturday afternoon, Sunday, or only Sunday), the New Year's Day break in 2024 will last for 2 or 2.5 consecutive days, from December 31, 2023, to January 1, 2024.

Schedule for New Year's Day Off for Students
For preschool and primary school students: New Year's Day off in 2024 for 3 consecutive days from Saturday (December 31, 2023) to Monday (January 1, 2024).
For secondary school students and university students: With a weekly break of 1.5 days (Sunday), New Year's Day in 2024 will be a 2.5-day break.
Lunar New Year Holiday Schedule
On November 3, 2023, the Government Office issued a document regarding the Lunar New Year holiday schedule for 2024. According to this, the Prime Minister approved the proposed Lunar New Year holiday schedule for 2024 by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs.
Specifically, the Lunar New Year holiday will last from February 8 to February 14, 2024. This covers from the 29th day of the 12th lunar month to the 5th day of the first lunar month.

Therefore, workers, officials, civil servants, students, and pupils will have a total of 7 days off for the Lunar New Year. Among them, 5 days off are according to regulations, and 2 compensatory days off. The compensatory days off are two days on Saturday and Sunday, the regular weekly days off as stipulated in Article 111, Clause 3 of the Labor Code.
