A Tale of Mighty Valkyrie
Omniheroes is a game Omniheroes narrates the story of an ancient mythological world, where a land is protected by the Valkyrie warrior goddesses. Thanks to their protection, the land named Palmarius enjoys peaceful days. Until one day, the demonic army unexpectedly rises, causing the Valkyries to disappear one by one. The only one left is the guardian Valkyrie, Eluller. She, along with heroes from different lands, joins forces to resist the demonic army at the Mirlond fortress while searching for the missing sisters.
At this moment, an ancient law is activated. A special entity responsible for protecting the Valkyries receives a wake-up signal. This man is an Omniguardian from legend, equipped with the special Onmideus card for identification. He aids Eluller's group in repelling the demonic onslaught and embarks on a quest to uncover the whereabouts of the other Valkyries.
This is when the player officially steps into the game as the Onmiguardian, and the Omniheroes' storyline unfolds through each chapter beyond the next challenging levels. The Valkyries are held captive in various locations in Palmarius, waiting to be rescued, with each having her own dedicated chapter.
Graphics Take Center Stage
The strongest and most impressive point is undoubtedly the game's graphics. From character drawings to interface functions, everything is beautifully crafted and detailed.
Not only are the Valkyries drawn beautifully, but almost all the female characters in Omniheroes are gorgeously depicted with unique personalities, strengths, and even a hint of allure that you can sense through their images. Male characters and other races, such as monsters, are not neglected either; all have sharp, detailed images, showcasing their power and ruggedness.
The models in battles are drawn to scale and have flexible movements when executing various attack moves.
Familiar Gameplay with a Twist
Omniheroes uses the gameplay platform of the idle RPG genre. You assemble a team for them to automatically fight and gather resources. Story levels are challenged with a separate activation button, and the higher the level, the more resources you receive over time.
To collect characters for a full team of 5, you rely on progressing through the story or gacha pulls. The rarity of characters is divided into 4 corresponding qualities by color, increasing from blue - 3 stars, purple - 4 stars, orange - 5 stars, and red - 6 stars. Characters have levels, breakthrough levels, and equipment slots to increase their strength. You can also enhance the stars of a character by merging characters of the same type.
The most unique feature is Omniheroes' 'bonding' function. It combines graphic attraction, relationship enhancement features, and storyline development. You will rescue the Valkyries one by one, and usually, they will be brought back in a wounded or weakened state. As the main character, a protector, you naturally have to take care of their health by applying ointment and bandages.
Each Valkyrie has an affection level, which increases after each healing session. The medicine used for healing must be found by going through story chapters. Overall, this is an intriguing 'harem' aspect that serves as a significant motivation for players to delve deeper into the game.
Downsides
Although the game design is generally good, Omniheroes still has some drawbacks. According to player feedback, the game has some bugs and tends to lag when played in Vietnam. However, during the experience, the author has not encountered these issues.
Another more visual and noticeable point is the combat. While not bad, the battlefield scenery looks monotonous compared to the dazzling effects in other aspects. Character models are drawn in great detail, but they appear too small, making it feel like they're not very clear during battles.
Conclusion
Omniheroes can be considered an excellent product in terms of graphics, with beautifully drawn characters, especially the Valkyrie warriors. The gameplay doesn't bring many innovations, but it allows players to quickly grasp the operation. Particularly, the healing scene, though not new, is visually stunning with graphic support.
