Task Submission:
Out of all seven days, Saturday holds a special place in my heart. Without fail, I eagerly await its arrival. It's the day when my mother treats the whole family to delectable dishes, and I get to assist her in the kitchen.
This Saturday evening, Mom will make 'nem' as a reward for me scoring full marks in Math. She's also preparing sweet and sour spare ribs for Dad, steamed chicken with mushrooms, cabbage soup with minced meat, and a pot of lotus seed sweet soup for dessert. Just hearing the menu makes my mouth water. My favorite is definitely the 'nem,' especially when it's made by Mom. She assigned me the task of peeling vegetables while she handled the rest of the prep. While we cook together, Mom shares her cooking wisdom, teaching me how to handle onions without tearing up, how to slice vegetables beautifully... Mom reminds me to be careful not to cut myself. While I'm busy with the vegetables, Mom seasons the chicken, puts it in the steamer with mushrooms. After cutting and washing the vegetables, I start arranging them on a plate. Mom swiftly wraps the 'nem' filling and rolls them up. Watching her nimble hands place those tiny 'nem' on the plate is enticing. Once fried, Mom moves on to the spare ribs. They're marinated and fried until golden, the aroma making Dad impatient, sneaking into the kitchen to take a whiff but getting shooed away by Mom. Once the ribs are cooked, Mom prepares the sweet and sour sauce and pours it over them. When the chicken is done, Mom takes it out, chops it into pieces, garnishes it with mushrooms, making it visually appealing. Now, only the cabbage soup with minced meat is left. Watching Mom skillfully carve carrot and tomato flowers for garnish, I insist on arranging the 'nem' plate. The dishes are laid out on the table, and I'm left with the task of setting the table and inviting Dad to dinner while Mom prepares the dipping sauce for the 'nem.'
After a week of hard work, nothing beats enjoying Mom's amazing dishes. Our family enjoys both the delicious food and cheerful conversations, unanimously agreeing, 'Mom is the number one chef.'
Thus, we have suggested the next writing prompt, 'Narrate your family's Saturday evening,' where you'll need to prepare content about 'A visit to the graves of relatives' and 'Narrate the tale of Mountain Deity and Water Deity in your own words' to excel in Vietnamese Literature.
