Research from Rakuten Viber reveals that Vietnamese people spend about 2 hours and 32 minutes each day on social media and messaging apps. This figure slightly exceeds the global average by over a minute.
Moreover, Vietnam is recognized as the world's second most advanced conversational commerce market. Reports from Data Reportal and Decision Lab Research indicate that 73% of customers in Vietnam use messaging to interact with brands, with 36% of users making purchases through messaging.
A study conducted by Forrester Consulting in 2022 also shows that utilizing conversational business channels results in 61% better business outcomes compared to other communication channels previously used.
Conversational commerce activities have long captured the attention of tech giants such as Meta, Viber, and others. Meta representatives have highlighted that conversational commerce is one of the company's top three priorities in 2023.
Mr. Khoi Le, Meta's National Director for the Vietnamese market, remarks: 'For every three individuals in Vietnam, one sends a message to a business at least once a week. This underscores the pivotal role of conversational commerce in supporting business growth and customer engagement.'
