On the morning of May 28th, the relevant authorities held a press conference to introduce the 2013 Southern Fruit Festival.
The festival will kick off at the Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Area (District 9, Ho Chi Minh City) on June 1st and last until September 2nd, featuring a consumption of over 1,000 tons of fruits in the span of 3 months.
This year's festival will include main activities such as a floating fruit market with 55 booths, which are heavy fruit-laden boats offering a variety of fruits at prices 20-40% cheaper than the market.

It is expected that the festival will also exhibit a collection of giant fruits, including a 60 kg winter melon, a 9 kg coconut, a 3 kg mango, and a 6 kg Yen lime.
