The new strap is part of the Pride series Apple sells to support the LGBT community. Alongside its release, Apple also introduces corresponding wallpapers and interfaces, available on watchOS and beyond.
Notice carefully and you'll see this part of the strap is designed to protrude slightly for easier fastening. It's a familiar design in Apple's strap lines, but some brands don't follow this style, so one-handed fastening might be a bit tricky.
The inner part is also slightly curved to snugly fit around the wrist.
I really admire the Pride inscription on this clasp. It reminds me of the kinds of clasps often found on Levi's jeans, a brand I love.
The strap is made from suede-like rubber, providing a smooth touch akin to velvet. Anyone who has used Apple Watch sports straps will recognize this sensation.
When worn, the strap fits snugly and securely around the wrist, with both the inner and outer sides of this Pride Edition LGBTQ+ strap offering a comfortable feel.
The predominantly white watch strap complements the Apple Watch Series 5 ceramic version owned by @cuhiep perfectly. The strap and watch seem almost made for each other. @cuhiep loves this strap, though he wishes it were slightly smaller to better fit his wrist.
The strap I'm wearing measures 45mm across, size M/L, the largest option suitable for wrists 150-200mm. My wrist circumference is around 170-180mm. Hence, when purchasing a strap, it's crucial to select the correct wrist size to avoid it being too loose.
A 45mm strap fits the Apple Watch Ultra 49mm, but the color harmony is clearly not as perfect as when it's paired with the Apple Watch Series 5 Ceramic. Moreover, due to the slightly larger face of the Apple Watch Ultra, the part where the strap tucks in on the top left is quite noticeable in the picture.This is a sports strap, hence the youthful color and design, ideal for workout activities. Therefore, it will be highly suitable for those who engage in sports with the Apple Watch. I'll test this strap during workouts to see how well it performs.Adding some updates:
In the evenings, I often wear my watch to track sleep quality. The new Apple strap made of rubber is quite lightweight and comfortable to wear. Because the inner rubber part is soft, I feel a bit more comfortable wearing it compared to the orange Alpine Loop strap that comes with the Apple Watch Ultra.
The rubber strap is clearly designed for sports activities. It stays firmly on the wrist, without shifting during a 30-minute run.
