The world has seen its fair share of outlandish inventions. Remember those chopsticks engineered to enhance taste? Well, get ready for the latest innovation from the land of the rising sun: spoons and bowls capable of imparting a salty taste through internal electrical currents, courtesy of Japan.

Recently, Kirin Holdings conducted research and unveiled two products: the Elexolt Spoon and Elexolt Bowl. These items can increase the saltiness of low-sodium foods by 1.5 to 2 times the usual amount by enhancing the electrical currents within. They are set to be introduced to the public in 2023.
As we're all aware, excessive salt intake can have detrimental effects on health, including high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease, kidney problems, gastric issues, and weakened bones and joints. The World Health Organization recommends that adults consume no more than 5 grams of salt per day. However, in many parts of the world, this limit is exceeded.

Unlike the previous taste-enhancing chopsticks, which transmitted sodium ions from food to the mouth to create a saltier sensation but had several drawbacks, these unique spoons and bowls have ample space to integrate batteries. This feature ensures users don't have to worry about connecting them to power every time they use them.
With the Elexolt Spoon, users simply need to flip the switch on the handle and choose from 4 intensity levels of saltiness desired. A small electric current will then be transmitted from the spoon's head to the food. As for the Elexolt Bowl, users just need to switch on the side and select the desired modes similarly to the spoon. By holding the base of the bowl, a small electric current will flow into the interior of the bowl.

It's known that Kirin Holdings is currently verifying the usefulness of these products. It's scheduled to be launched in 2023 in Japan. It can be said that self-salting spoons and bowls will bring significant value to customers who are concerned about reducing daily salt intake. Kirin Holdings is expected to collaborate with various food suppliers to provide healthy food options to users.

Salt is an essential seasoning in daily cooking. It's also a vital mineral for the body. However, it must be used in moderation to avoid being affected by various health conditions.

You might not know that salt is composed of 40% sodium and 60% chloride. Sodium is a necessary mineral for muscle and nerve function. Along with chloride, it helps balance water and minerals in your body effectively.
There are many ways to reduce saltiness in everyday food preparation. One of them is to limit seasoning and salt marinating; use more steamed and boiled dishes instead of fried, stir-fried, and grilled ones; limit the use of condiments, dipping sauces when eating; restrict the consumption of salty foods such as pickles, sausages, bacon, salted meat, etc.

The advent of Elexolt Spoon and Elexolt Bowl has contributed to solving many issues, making salt reduction simpler. Users can still enjoy the salty taste of food without worrying about any health hazards. Now, all we eagerly await is the successful testing and market launch of these two products.
Vietnamese people have a penchant for salty dishes, and the diverse array of sauces contributes to various salt-related health issues. If Japanese utensils and tableware renowned for their ability to balance saltiness were introduced to the Vietnamese market, it would undoubtedly spark a frenzy among homemakers.
