Marking 25 years since the release of its first chapter, One Piece reveals a fresh logo featuring Luffy and Red-Haired Shanks.
A new emblem is crafted to commemorate the 25-year milestone of Eiichiro Oda's globally acclaimed and lengthy manga. The logo showcases Monkey D. Luffy with Shanks, capturing the moment when the 'red-haired' uncle passed the Straw Hat to Luffy.
This logo was unveiled during a special live broadcast of One Piece held on March 28th. The broadcast also introduced significant revelations, including One Piece Odyssey, a new role-playing game by Bandai Namco. Additionally, a special image of an incredibly cute character will appear in One Piece Film Red, and the actor playing Red-Haired Shanks in the live-action version has been announced.
Oda's One Piece first graced the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump in July 1997. In the two and a half decades since, the manga has become the second-best-selling comic of all time with substantial profits. One Piece surpasses other famous manga titles like Golgo 13 and Dragon Ball. Its revenue even outshines the combined earnings of the Harry Potter and Batman comics.
The 25th-anniversary celebration of the first chapter's release of One Piece follows a memorable 2021 for the series. In that year, the manga welcomed its 1000th chapter, the 100th volume was released, and the 1000th anime episode officially aired. The reuse of Red-Haired Shanks' image, coupled with his significant role in One Piece Film Red, has certainly pleased devoted fans.
As of now, even though the Yonko made their initial appearances in the series, Whitebeard, Kaido, Big Mom, and Blackbeard have showcased their individual strengths. However, Shanks, and the power and background of this Yonko, remain an enigma. With the inclusion of Shanks passing the hat to Luffy in the 25th-anniversary logo, we hope to witness the might of this Yonko in the upcoming events.
