As a Windows user, there are times when you need to run a software under multiple windows simultaneously. These windows can operate independently and can even log into different accounts if needed. Below are some ways for you to open multiple windows of a software.
1. Simply Restart the Program
The simplest method to run another instance of a software is to just restart it when a window is already open. This works well on browsers, Microsoft Office applications, and Windows utilities like Paint, Calculator, WordPad, Command Prompt, and even some third-party software. Note that this method may not work for all software.

From the Start menu, you can search and click on the program to launch it.
You can also enter the application name into the search box and decide whether to open it as an administrator (Run as administrator) or not.
2. Launching via the Run Dialog in Windows 10
Another way to start a Windows program is by using the Run dialog box. First, you need to locate the .exe file of the software. Right-click on the application shortcut on the main screen and select Open file location.
You will be taken to the .exe file of the software. Right-click on this file and open Properties.
Highlight the location section and press Ctrl + C to copy.
Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box, where you enter:

Press Enter and the new window of the software will be opened immediately.
3. Use Windows + Shift + Number on the taskbar
One of the quickest ways to restart a software instance is to identify its number on the taskbar. You need to determine the number from left to right.
To open a new instance, use the shortcut keys including Windows + Shift + Application number.
4. Utilize the web browser version of the software
If you download the application from the Microsoft Store, you will quickly notice that the methods mentioned do not help open additional windows of the application. Try exploring whether apps downloaded from the Microsoft Store have a web browser version; for example, Netflix has a browser version at https://netflix.com.
In that case, all you need to do is open an additional incognito tab in the browser and access the software's website, using it as a secondary window.
These are some ways to help you open multiple windows of a software. Of course, not all software supports this. If you can't apply the methods mentioned above, try using a virtual machine and open the software inside it.
