In newer versions of Windows, the Paint app is still integrated into the system, allowing you to edit images. However, accessing the app is slightly different than before. To learn how to open the Paint application in Windows 8/8.1, follow the steps below.

Method 1: Open the Windows Explorer, paste the path %windir%\system32\mspaint.exe into the address bar, and press Enter. The Paint application window will then appear for your use.
Method 2: Click the Start button (for Windows 8.1) or press the Windows key (for Windows 8). Navigate to the search function, enter the keyword Paint in the search box. When the results are displayed below, simply click to open Paint for use.
