One of the standout advantages of Opera 52 is the improved performance of its built-in ad blocker. Opera Software has enhanced the concatenation algorithm in the ad blocker to load ad-containing web pages faster than before, surpassing rival browsers like Chrome.
Opera 52 integrates an ad blocker faster than Chrome.
'This time, our focus was on web browsing speed. Improving performance in the ad-blocking mechanism was achieved by refining the concatenation algorithm. To assess ad-blocking speed on Opera 52, we conducted several tests,' stated Maciej Kocemba, Product Manager at Opera Software.
According to Opera developers, benchmarking conducted on approximately 15 popular news websites over 10 repetitions indicates that Opera 52 operates 16% faster than Opera 51 and 44% faster than Chrome 64, the first web browser to feature built-in ad-blocking.
Many tab options will be added to Opera 52.
In addition to the improved ad-blocking feature, Opera 52 also provides users with protection against Cryptojacking attacks, integrated into Opera 51, a Chromium-based web browser version. The Opera 52 browser update promises to introduce many more tab selection features.
This feature will be useful for those who want to perform specific actions across multiple tabs simultaneously. To select individual tabs, you press and hold the Ctrl key ((⌘ on macOS) and click on the corresponding tabs. Additionally, this feature allows you to select a range of tabs, from left to right, by pressing the Shift key and then clicking on the tabs.
Another noteworthy feature in Opera 52 browser is the ability to copy the full address of a web page, named Copy page address(es), executed in the right-click menu. The selected web pages will be copied to the clipboard by default for easy sharing with friends and family.
