Without keeping you waiting any longer, let's together rate the performance of OPPO Reno8 to see how strong this phone is!
Rating the Performance of OPPO Reno8
In this section, I'll use specialized benchmarking software (3DMark, PCMark, Geekbench 5) to test the performance of OPPO Reno8. The specific conditions for benchmarking are as follows:
- Battery must be between 90 - 100% (battery below 90% will affect the device's performance and results).
- Do not charge the battery while benchmarking.
- Benchmark 3 times in a row and take the average result after 3 rounds of benchmarking.

First, in the GeekBench 5 and PCMark software, the results I obtained were quite impressive and not far behind some competitors in the same segment. The specific results are as follows:
- GeekBench 5:
- Single/Multi-Core Score: 377/1,571.
- GPU Compute: 434.
- PCMark: 8,646.

Moving on to the light graphics test 3DMark Wild Life Extreme, OPPO Reno8 delivered a relatively solid result with a total score of 123 and an average FPS of 0.70. The device's temperature and battery level remained stable after the test (97% battery and 36°C temperature).

Lastly, we'll tackle the most demanding test in this section, the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test. For those who may have forgotten, this test automatically repeats the scoring process 20 times to assess the stability of a smartphone during prolonged heavy usage (such as video editing, gaming, etc.). Check out the results below and pay attention to the Stability

As seen in the results table above, the stability of OPPO Reno8 is remarkably high at 97.6%. This is demonstrated by the difference between the highest loop score and the lowest loop score, specifically 125 points compared to 122 points. Furthermore, the temperature and battery life of OPPO Reno8 did not show significant fluctuations after completing the test (temperature increased from 35°C to 36°C, battery decreased from 96% to 94%).
Is gaming smooth on OPPO Reno8? Better than expected
Previously, I've experienced some smartphones equipped with the Snapdragon 680 chip, and gaming performance on those devices was relatively satisfactory. Therefore, I had similar expectations for OPPO Reno8. For the gaming test, I downloaded 4 games on the device: Arena of Valor, Free Fire, Play Together, and PUBG Mobile. Additionally, I used the Perfdog app to measure FPS for each game. You can find the FPS data and related information here for reference!

- Liên Quân Mobile
In Liên Quân Mobile, I set the graphics to almost the highest level, similar to the image below. It's understandable as most competitors in the same segment as the Reno8 can achieve this graphics level, so there's no reason why OPPO couldn't.
Regarding the gaming experience of Liên Quân Mobile on OPPO Reno8, I have nothing to complain about. The device maintains an average frame rate of around 60 FPS throughout a 3 vs 3 match (this number fluctuates around 58 - 60 FPS for a regular 5 vs 5 match). During intense combat or map navigation, the device experiences minimal lag (excluding network latency). The game's level of detail is visually appealing, and the skill effects of each hero are vividly displayed by the Reno8.
- Play Together
Moving on to the second game, Play Together, OPPO Reno8 can handle it, but the experience is only at a decent level. Regarding the graphics in the game, I have set them up as shown below to achieve the best gaming experience.

Reasonably, I say OPPO Reno8 provides a decent Play Together gaming experience because the Snapdragon 680's graphics processing capability is not optimal. Therefore, whenever I move quickly, run, jump,... in the main hall, there is lag. Also, when playing mini-games in the 'Party Games' section, FPS drops occur if many characters appear in one frame. Suppose I'm playing a racing mini-game and I'm running alone, then the frame rate is more stable. I think this could be because the app is not well compatible with Reno8, and this can be addressed by some future software updates.
- Free Fire
Next up is Free Fire, where OPPO Reno8 allows me to adjust graphics as shown below (at the highest level).

As expected, Reno8 handles Free Fire well with an average frame rate of about 60 FPS. Even when performing jumps, running, or fighting multiple opponents simultaneously, the device doesn't experience frame rate drops.
- PUBG Mobile
Last but not least, the heaviest game on today's list, PUBG Mobile. As expected, OPPO Reno8 can handle PUBG Mobile with Smooth graphics and High frame rate settings.

However, I was pleasantly surprised by the stable gaming experience of PUBG Mobile on OPPO Reno8, with an average FPS of 30. In some situations like running, jumping, combat, and aiming, the device experiences slight stuttering, but it doesn't significantly affect my overall experience.
Summing up the gaming test, I'm satisfied with what the OPPO Reno8 can do, although Play Together and PUBG Mobile aren't optimized well for the device. I'd also like to share a bit about the gaming experience with Reno8. Because of its square design, it feels a bit uncomfortable to hold for extended gaming sessions. However, the device doesn't heat up too quickly even when playing four games continuously for a long time.
OPPO Reno8's battery can last over 7 hours of continuous gaming in Arena of Valor
Many people believe that the 4,500 mAh battery on the OPPO Reno8 may not be sufficient for the usage needs of many users at this time, especially since this capacity is similar to its predecessor, the OPPO Reno7. However, I conducted a battery test (following the standard of TGDĐ) to prove otherwise, and the specific conditions of this test are as follows:
- Experience 4 rotating tasks including playing Arena of Valor (configured as shown below), watching YouTube, browsing Facebook, and using Chrome.

- Each task is used alternately for 1 hour.
- Screen brightness at 100%, refresh rate set to 90 Hz.
- Wired earphones plugged in with volume at 100%.
- WiFi and social media notifications enabled.
- Battery saver mode, adaptive brightness, GPS, and Bluetooth turned off.
- Starting from 100% battery until it reaches 0%.
The results obtained are:

As you can see from the results table above, OPPO Reno8 provides continuous usage time of 11 hours and 32 minutes, significantly higher than the 9 hours and 18 minutes from our assessment of OPPO Reno7. It's worth noting that both OPPO Reno8 and its predecessor utilize the Snapdragon 680 chipset, indicating that OPPO has optimized this processing unit more fittingly for the new Reno generation.

To provide you with a more visual understanding of Reno8's impressive battery life, we also conducted an additional continuous gaming test (using the 4 games from the gaming test section) on OPPO's new phone to see how long the battery would last for each game. The specific conditions are as follows:
- Play only one game until the device runs out of battery (from 100% to 0%).
- Screen brightness at 100%, with a 90 Hz refresh rate.
- Wired earphones plugged in with volume set to 100%.
- WiFi and social media notifications enabled.
- Battery saver mode, adaptive brightness, GPS, and Bluetooth turned off.
Here are the results I obtained:

- PUBG Mobile: 5 hours 11 minutes.
- Play Together: 5 hours 22 minutes.
- Free Fire: 5 hours 31 minutes.
- Liên Quân Mobile: 7 hours 13 minutes.

Based on the tests above, I believe this phone can accompany you in gaming for long periods. Even if the battery runs out faster than expected, the Reno8 supports fast charging up to 33W, allowing you to save time charging and quickly return to gaming.
How much does OPPO Reno8 cost? Is it worth buying?
In conclusion, I can affirm that with what Reno8 offers to users, the price of nearly 9 million VND is completely justified (prices at Mytour may vary depending on the time and promotion programs). Good enough performance to handle most popular games today, upgraded camera, and impressive battery life are still attractive factors for tech enthusiasts to invest in OPPO Reno8.
