Are you considering installing an air cooler (air conditioning unit) for your apartment? Discover the most efficient ways to utilize this device to combat the heat!
1. How to Use Your Air Cooler Most Effectively?
Are you looking to equip your apartment with an air cooler (air conditioning unit)? Do you know how to use this device effectively? Check out the following article to learn 7 tips for using air coolers effectively during hot weather!
Place the Fan in a Well-Ventilated Area
Many consumers think that using an air cooler requires sealing off the room like when using an air conditioner. However, the cooling effectiveness of an air cooler will decrease when used in a closed, humid room.
Air conditioner fans function by balancing the environment's humidity. When in use, you don't need to close the doors like when using an air conditioner. Simply place the fan in a well-ventilated, spacious area, and it will effectively cool the room.
Fans use water to lower the temperature but do not release water vapor, so you can use them in rooms with electronic devices without worrying about damage.

The air intake side (the back side) of the fan should be placed in a spacious area to capture more air. It's recommended to maintain a minimum distance of 20 cm from obstacles.
Note: Avoid placing objects that obstruct the fan's air intake and airflow, as it will reduce cooling efficiency and increase power consumption.
Pour a sufficient amount of water into the reservoir.
When using an air conditioner fan, it's advisable to fill the water to about halfway up the reservoir. Operating the fan without water can impact the durability of the pump and reduce the fan's lifespan.
Pouring too much water can lead to overflow or leakage, increasing the risk of electrical malfunction when the air conditioner fan is in operation.

Only use clean water in the air conditioner fan. Dirty water containing chemicals can significantly reduce the fan's lifespan.
Note: Avoid pouring perfume or scented water into the reservoir to create fragrance. They can clog the cooling pad, water pipes, or even the pump, causing damage to the fan.
If you want to add fragrance to the room, you can place scented wax in front of the fan to let the scent spread into the air as the fan blows.
Find a suitable seating position to receive an adequate amount of cool breeze.
Depending on the operating power, choose a seating position relative to other devices to ensure the most suitable airflow and cooling.

You can consider seating positions as follows:
- Fans with a power below 80 W: It's recommended to sit around 2-3m away from the fan to receive a comfortably cool breeze.
- For fans with a power above 80 W: Sit further away to ensure safety for health, avoiding colds, headaches, and dizziness.
Regularly clean the air conditioner fan.
Users can self-clean the air conditioner fan regularly, either weekly or monthly, depending on usage needs. Clean the dust filter, cooling pad (both can be cleaned under clean water), and rinse the water tank to ensure their proper functioning without dirt buildup, thus increasing durability.

Some air conditioner fans may have an unpleasant smell, which could be due to adhesive odors from newly purchased fans sticking to the cooling pad. This smell will dissipate after the first use.
If the smell persists, it's possible that the cooling pad of the fan is not properly dried. You can turn off the cool mode for about 30 minutes; the fan will dry the cooling pad, and the unpleasant smell will disappear.

Moisturize dry environments with low humidity.
If the air humidity is too low, manually increase it by cleaning the house to keep it cool or placing a water basin or damp cloth in the room to create humidity.

For outdoor spaces, you can spray water or wet the ground to increase humidity. This method will enhance the effectiveness of the fan's cooling, providing a comfortable experience during use.
*Note: For households with small children, be careful not to make the floor too wet.
Some other considerations:
1. Air conditioner fans cool the air but do not function as air conditioners. Under ideal conditions, they can help reduce temperatures by approximately 4-15°C compared to the ambient temperature. The degree of temperature reduction depends on various factors such as surrounding temperature, environmental humidity, and usage space.
2. If not using the water cooling function (Cool mode), the air conditioner fan functions like a regular mechanical fan.
3. When starting the fan, choose the cool mode: Add cold water to the water tank, add dry ice or ice cubes, wait for about 15 minutes, and the room temperature will decrease, maximizing cooling effectiveness.

4. After running the fan for about 15 - 20 minutes, select the oscillation mode for even and airy room cooling.
5. The water tank should be replaced regularly every week to avoid bacterial growth that may affect family health.
6. In addition to manually moisturizing, consider using the Humidity Control mode to regulate humidity and the ionization function (if available) to clean the air.
Guide to using the functions of the air conditioner fan
Fundamentally, air conditioner fans utilize similar functions, such as the Sunhouse air conditioner fan below:

- Power (On): Turn on the fan to utilize its functions.
- Speed (Adjustable speed): Adjust the fan speed; typically, air conditioner fans have 3 speeds (Low - Medium - High), choose the appropriate speed according to your needs.
- Swing (Directional change): Alter the direction of the air divider, allowing the air to move from left to right and vice versa, cooling a wider space.
- Cool (Cooling): Utilize the fan's water vapor function. If this function is not selected, the fan operates only as a regular fan.
Note when using the Cool function: Ensure the water level is at least half of the tank capacity. If the Cool button flashes and then turns off, the cooling function is not active; you need to add more water to the tank.

- Humidity Control: Helps keep the air cool and comfortable.
When this mode is active, the humidity control indicators on the control panel will light up. If the air humidity exceeds 75%, the warning light will flash, and the fan will automatically turn off the cooling mode (the pump stops operating).
When the humidity drops to 70%, the warning light illuminates, and the cooling mode resumes (the water pump remains operational).
Press the “Humidity Control” button again (this button light turns off completely) to stop the flashing of the warning light and deactivate the humidity balance mode; however, the fan will continue to maintain the cooling mode (the pump remains operational).
- Ozone: Automatic sterilization mode for the water tank, ensuring clean water. To activate this mode, press the “Ozone” button on the control panel (light turns on); to deactivate the mode, press this button again (light turns off).
