The organizers of the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2023 have recently issued the regulations for the competition of crafting artistic products from coffee trees. This competition is themed: “Culture, Art, Nature, and People of the Central Highlands”, scheduled to take place from March 10th to March 12th, 2023 at the Community Cultural Ecotourism Area…
The competition will witness the participation of approximately 80 artisans crafting artistic products from the provinces of the Central Highlands; among them, guests are invited from 4 provinces (Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Lam Dong), each province sending 4 artisans, with Dak Lak sending 64 artisans.
According to the competition regulations, artisans will directly craft artistic products through sculpting, carving, grinding, carving, and cutting on the wooden bodies of coffee trees, depicting images of daily life, culture, spirituality of people, the natural world, household items, decoration, and other figures in the material and spiritual life of the Central Highlands people.

The competition aims to facilitate artisans to meet, exchange, learn, and share experiences in crafting diverse artistic products from coffee trees; discover talented artisans and introduce their artistic products to many people, tourists; contribute to promoting the value of coffee trees, not only coffee beans but also the trunk, roots… of aging coffee trees after the end of the cultivation cycle; generate additional income for coffee growers and artisans through the utilization of aging coffee tree trunks.
The competition for crafting artistic products from coffee trees with vibrant activities will contribute to the success of the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2023.
