1. Origin of Vietnam Family Day
Family is the basic social unit, nurturing human values and traditions, contributing to the nation's development and defense against social evils, and providing a strong workforce for the country's construction and defense.

Following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, on June 28, 2000, the Central Committee of the Party issued Directive No. 55-CT/TW on strengthening the leadership of grassroots Party committees in protecting, caring for, and educating children.
On May 4, 2001, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 72/2001/QD-TTg concerning Vietnam Family Day.
