Pá Uôn Bridge not only plays a significant role in connecting tourism in Son La and the Northwest provinces but also serves as a tourist attraction with stunning scenery.
Pá Uôn Bridge – the tallest bridge tower in Vietnam amidst stunning landscapes
Pá Uôn Bridge in Sơn La is a crucial transportation infrastructure in the Northwestern region of our country. The bridge spans the Đà River, located on National Highway 279, in Chiềng Ơn commune, Quỳnh Nhai district. It has a length of 1,418 meters, a height of 103.8 meters, and a width of 9 meters. The entire bridge is supported by 11 pillars, constructed with sturdy and durable concrete material. Among the 11 bridge pillars, the tallest one reaches 98.6 meters, setting a record for the tallest bridge tower in Vietnam.

It is known that this transportation project was directly designed and constructed by the team of officials, engineers, and workers from the Vietnamese road and bridge sector. Especially, the bridge was meticulously calculated to withstand earthquakes of level 8 – 9. Since its inauguration and operation, Pá Uôn Bridge has contributed to promoting tourism in Quỳnh Nhai district specifically and tourism in Sơn La province in general.

Pá Uôn Bridge now appears as a soft silk strip stretching across the vast and blue Đà River. On both sides of the bridge are patches of green forests, creating an extremely romantic and charming picture. It is estimated that Quỳnh Nhai district welcomes over 100,000 visitors to explore the beautiful scenery and unique activities on the Đà River.

Since its completion, Pá Uôn Bridge has effectively connected Sơn La with neighboring provinces such as Lai Châu, Lào Cai, Điện Biên, contributing to the strong development of tourism in the Northwest. Especially, Pá Uôn Bridge in Sơn La was also built to promote the traditional culture of the local indigenous people to tourists at home and abroad.

Every year on the 10th day of the lunar New Year, the local area organizes a traditional boat racing festival in Quỳnh Nhai. The boat racing venue planned in the area near Pá Uôn Bridge is lively and bustling, attracting a large number of tourists to cheer and immerse themselves in the typical festival of the local people.
