Recently, Panasonic Corporation issued a press release on July 31, 2020, validating the effectiveness of hydroxyl (OH) roots encapsulated in water (nano-sized electrically charged water molecules) against the new corona virus (SARS-CoV-2). With their natural high reactivity, found in the stratosphere and often referred to as the 'natural detergent,' OH roots can inhibit the activity of pollutants, odors, and even viruses. This validation was conducted through collaboration between Panasonic Corporation and Osaka Prefecture University, Japan. Decoding Nanoe™X along with benefits from OH roots
Nanoe™X was developed by Panasonic based on the achievements of the 'hydroxyl root encapsulated in water' technology mentioned above. In the air environment, OH roots have a short lifespan and are difficult to produce a large amount of OH roots while controlling the amount of ozone generated. Panasonic has used ionization technology, collected invisible moisture in the air, and applied high voltage to the electrode to achieve this.
When encapsulated in water, OH roots have a longer lifespan compared to in the air, thereby enhancing their ability to adhere to viruses, capturing hydrogens (H), breaking down protein structures, and rendering viruses ineffective.
Panasonic has integrated Nanoe™X technology into air conditioner products with continuous improvements made. Now, the Nanoe™X generator can produce 4.8 trillion OH roots per second, more than 10 times higher than conventional Nanoe™ technology.
