Awaiting its official launch, Ryzen 5 7640U stands as a pioneer in the U-series, featuring AMD's Zen 4 architecture. Manufactured on a 4nm process and equipped with a potent RDNA 3 GPU.

Ryzen 5 7640U, a 6-core, 12-thread chip with 6 MB L2 cache and an impressive 16 MB L3 cache, clocking up to 4.9GHz. Performance leaks indicate it surpasses its predecessor, Ryzen 5 6600U, by a remarkable 60%.

AMD appears to have tested this chip on the reference platform Maya-PHX for the CPU Phoenix Ryzen 7040. The platform runs on 16 GB RAM, although it's unclear whether it's LPDDR5X or LPDDR5 standard.

Compared to Ryzen 5 6600U, Ryzen 5 7640U boasts a 25% increase in single-core and an impressive 60% in multi-core performance. Even against the previous-gen flagship, Ryzen 9 6900HX, it outperforms in single-core. Notably, this 6-core chip easily outpaces Ryzen 7 6800U 8-core and even i5-12600HX 12-core.

Additionally, this chip integrates a dedicated AI processing core, ensuring robust graphics. It supports USB4 40Gbps, making these processors highly anticipated.
