Moreover, this phone boasts a massive 5,000 mAh battery, promising long-lasting usage. So, how does the Vivo Y02s perform? How long does the battery last when gaming on the Vivo Y02s? Vivo Y02s: Adequate Performance with Helio P35

Before diving into details, let me give you a quick overview of the Vivo Y02s configuration for your reference!

• Display: 6.51-inch size, IPS LCD panel, HD+ resolution (1,600×720 pixels).
• CPU: Helio P35.
• RAM: 3 GB.
• Internal Storage: 32 GB and 64 GB.
• Rear Camera: 8 MP.
• Front Camera: 5 MP resolution.
• Battery: 5,000 mAh.

Looking at the specifications above, we can see that the Vivo Y02s is equipped with the Helio P35 chip from MediaTek. This processor is built on a 12nm process, featuring 8 cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.3 GHz, and a GPU IMG PowerVR GE8320 running at 680 MHz. Therefore, I assess that the Vivo Y02s will provide a good experience with this chip and can meet all the basic needs of users, including gaming. For a visual insight into the performance of the Vivo Y02s, I will proceed to score the performance of the Vivo Y02s to examine the power of the Helio P35 processor!

Performance Score of Vivo Y02s

In this section, I will use specialized performance scoring software such as GeekBench 5, 3DMark, and PCMark. Before sharing the results, let me quickly outline the conditions for scoring, as follows:

• Battery must be between 90 - 100% (battery below 90% will affect the device's performance and results).
• Do not charge the battery while scoring.
• Score 3 times consecutively and take the average result after 3 rounds of scoring.

Firstly, in the GeekBench 5 and PCMark software section, the results I obtained are quite impressive and not far behind some competitors in the same segment. The specific results are as follows:

- GeekBench 5:

• Single-Core Score: 177 points.
• Multi-Core Score: 868 points.

However, in the GPU Compute section, I couldn't complete the test as Vivo Y02s shuts down at around 33%. I believe this is due to the device not being well optimized for this application, and it may be addressed in the near future.

- PCMark: 4,768 points.

Next, I will use the 3DMark Sling Shot test to evaluate the graphics processing capability of this phone. As you can see in the image below, my Vivo Y02s scored a total of 590 points with a graphics score of 516. Additionally, the temperature and battery life of the device remained unchanged during the test, specifically, the temperature stayed at 34 degrees Celsius, and the battery remained at 99%.

Finally, I will use a slightly heavier test in this section, the 3DMark Sling Shot Extreme. In this most demanding test, I checked on Sling Shot Extreme, achieving a score of 334 and a graphics score of 227. Surprisingly, in this test, the Vivo Y02s showed minimal changes during the examination. Specifically, the device's temperature only increased by 1 degree (from 36 degrees Celsius to 37 degrees Celsius), and the battery remained at 100%.

In summary, the results achieved by the Vivo Y02s in the test are quite suitable for a device in the price range of 2 - 4 million VND. Although not outstanding compared to some devices in the same range, with these results, the Vivo Y02s can still easily handle your basic tasks. Vivo Y02s performs well in gaming, meeting entertainment needs

To answer the question above, I will download 4 games including Arena of Valor, Zing Speed, Free Fire, and Zombie Tsunami to play on the Vivo Y02s. For more detailed information about configuration settings, FPS, and gaming experience, I have recorded all the data using the Perfdog app.

• Arena of Valor

First up is the leading MOBA game in Vietnam - Arena of Valor. For an affordable device like the Vivo Y02s, I set the game's graphic quality to the lowest to maximize FPS. This is because I prioritize smooth gameplay in intense battles over detailed graphics in the game.

With the graphics settings as mentioned above, the Vivo Y02s provides a fairly good gaming experience. The gameplay is smooth, with responsive movements, skill swipes, and quick feedback. During gaming sessions, the Vivo Y02s occasionally experiences slight stutters but doesn't significantly impact my 'rank climbing' endeavors. The frame rate in the game averages around 59.7 FPS, quite an impressive number, don't you think?

• Free Fire

Next up is another popular game among the youth - Free Fire. In this game, I can push the graphics to the highest level, but it comes at the cost of reduced FPS. As mentioned earlier, I prioritize smooth gameplay over visual details, so to achieve a high FPS (around 60 FPS), I set the graphics to a low level.

During the gaming experience, personally, I assess that the image quality in the game remains quite satisfactory, with details well-represented and clear colors. However, the frame rate only fluctuates around 40.7 FPS, quite low compared to what I anticipated. This could be due to the game not being well-optimized, and I believe this is an aspect that needs improvement in the near future.

• Zing Speed Mobile

Next up is another equally famous game - Zing Speed Mobile. In this game, I pushed the graphics to the lowest level and increased the frame rate to High (equivalent to 60 FPS) for a smooth racing experience.

The results were quite surprising as the Vivo Y02s could maintain a frame rate of 55.8 FPS. Although there were occasional FPS drops and slight stutters, they didn't significantly impact my racing experience. Overall, both the image quality and frame rate were well represented at this graphics setting.

• Zombie Tsunami​

Moving on to the final game in this light and enjoyable test - Zombie Tsunami. In this game, the experience the device provides is truly excellent, as it is a lightweight game, smooth gameplay is easily achievable. During extended gameplay, the Vivo Y02s handles temperature issues quite well, not getting excessively hot and only reaching a mildly warm level. Moreover, the displayed images in the game are sharp with vibrant colors, and personally, I feel that the Vivo Y02s performs exceptionally well with lightweight games like these.

In summary of the gaming experience, I assess that the Helio P35 chipset performs quite well on the Vivo Y02s, handling most popular games without much difficulty. Therefore, I conclude that the Vivo Y02s can still meet the basic entertainment needs of users through popular games with appropriate graphic settings. Vivo Y02s 5,000 mAh Battery: How long does it last during gaming?

To answer this question, I conducted a battery test on the Vivo Y02s under specific conditions as follows:

• Play a single game until the device runs out of battery (from 100% to 0%).
• Screen brightness set to 100%, refresh rate at 90 Hz.
• Continuous use of wired earphones at 100% volume.
• Wi-Fi on, receiving social media notifications.
• Do not enable power-saving mode, gaming assistance, adaptive display, GPS, and Bluetooth.
• Start recording from 100% battery until it reaches 0%.

The results obtained are as follows:

• Liên Quân Mobile: 6 hours 15 minutes.
• Zing Speed Mobile: 5 hours 51 minutes.
• Free Fire: 6 hours.
• Zombie Tsunami: 7 hours 36 minutes.

In the results above, the Vivo Y02s consistently operates for around 5 hours and 30 minutes for the tested games. For the games with slightly higher requirements like Liên Quân Mobile, Free Fire, and Zing Speed Mobile, the playing time is approximately 6 hours each. As for Zombie Tsunami, being a lighter game, it shows a more impressive playing time compared to the others.

With the 5,000 mAh battery in the Vivo Y02s, the device provides impressive usage time. The test was conducted under demanding and continuous conditions, so if your usage is primarily for work or study, I believe the device's operational time will be even higher.
