Peruvian police in Lima recently garnered international attention for an unusual campaign, where officers disguised themselves as Marvel and DC superheroes to dismantle a criminal family.
In a video circulating online for about two weeks, police officers can be seen dressed as Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man, and Cat Woman attending a press conference about the 'Marvel Campaign.'
After receiving detailed instructions from their superiors, they drove to the target location, an operation run by the Mariátegui family, notorious drug traffickers. The superheroes strolled through the streets to their target and then stormed into a house, surprising the target.

One might think police officers dressed as superheroes would surely attract attention, but looking at how the 'Marvel Campaign' was executed on Halloween, the costumes and grand music emanating from the portable speaker they carried truly helped them blend into the crowd.
The police spokesperson said they had specifically planned the 'Marvel Campaign' to ensure that the local residents had no time to warn the Mariátegui family that the police were approaching their base, and Halloween was the perfect opportunity.

As the superheroes stepped into the target's abode, the suspects inside visibly flustered. Seeing masked law enforcement barging into your home is one thing, but being told to hit the floor by Captain America, Thor, and Spider-Man is another.
According to a police statement, the apprehended individuals were involved in drug trafficking, and according to the campaign's leader, the head of this gang was recently released from prison. During the raid, a substantial amount of cannabis and cocaine hydrochloride was seized.
