Situated about 7 kilometers west of Tam Ky City, Phu Ninh Lake is an artificial reservoir, also serving as an appealing eco-tourism spot, thanks to its poetic scenery, romantic ambiance, and refreshing atmosphere.
Exploring the Secret of Phu Ninh Lake in Quang Nam
Located in Nui Thanh and Phu Ninh districts, Quang Nam province, Phu Ninh was once the largest irrigation project in Central Vietnam upon its inauguration and is the second largest lake in Vietnam, only after Dau Tieng Lake in Tay Ninh province.

Since 1927, the French had planned to build the lake but failed. It wasn't until 1977, with technical assistance from central irrigation experts, that Quang Nam province initiated the construction of Phu Ninh Lake. Finally, the project was completed on March 29, 1986.

Covering an area of over 24,000 hectares, with a water surface area of 3,400 hectares and 32 small and large islands like Ong So Island, Island 61, and Turtle Island, Phu Ninh Lake boasts beautiful landscapes being developed for tourism. Particularly, the lake has natural mineral water with high mineral content, containing numerous beneficial trace elements for health.

The scenery of the lake resembles a vivid painting, blending the colors of nature: forests, water surfaces, skies, bird songs, and gentle breezes create a romantic, refreshing, serene beauty that captivates travelers.

Visitors to Phu Ninh can rent boats to explore the lake, its small islands, or enjoy fishing while admiring the scenery, offering a delightful experience.

This is an ideal destination for adventure seekers who love to explore the beauty of nature, longing to return to the mountains and forests, away from the hustle and bustle of urban life.
