Phù Vân Flower Village is located about 4km from Phủ Lý city, known for its famous flower and ornamental plant cultivation in the northern region. As the year comes to a close, the village becomes bustling with activity, supplying flowers and ornamental plants to markets in Hà Nam and neighboring provinces like Nam Định, Ninh Bình, Thái Bình…

Phù Vân commune currently has over 300 households engaged in flower cultivation covering an area of about 40 hectares. Most flowers in the village have been under contract with traders, who made deposits for purchase before Tet.

As a result, from the 9th to the 10th lunar month, flower-growing households have already completed planting various types of flowers to be sold before, during, and after Tet. Mainly, gardeners focus on growing and nurturing traditional flowers such as chrysanthemums, roses, marigolds, cosmos, lilies, and sunflowers…

In the past, Phù Vân Flower Village primarily cultivated chrysanthemums, but in recent years, many have shifted to growing various types of roses, dahlias, marigolds, cockscombs, celosias, and asparagus ferns… Moreover, many families in Phù Vân have transitioned to propagating and growing grafted rose trees, mainly heritage roses.

In addition to cultivating various flowers, the cultivation of plants favored by plant enthusiasts such as oranges, kumquats, peaches, and pomelos is also thriving. Quat Phù Vân boasts many beautifully shaped trees with numerous branches, large and ripe fruits, making them sought after by traders and plant enthusiasts who eagerly seek to purchase them early. A square meter of ornamental plants can yield an income of 50-60 million VND per year, a significant source of revenue for farming households.

Thanks to creativity and skillful application of technology, flower growers have successfully produced their own seedlings. As a result, flowers in Phù Vân Flower Village have large, uniform blooms with beautiful colors, preferred by customers. Flower cultivation has provided stable income for the locals and created employment opportunities for many agricultural workers.
