As one of the vibrant streets adorned with diverse artworks, Phùng Hưng Mural Street exudes the image of a nostalgic and artistic avenue. It captures the hearts of many young Hanoians and numerous tourists when they set foot in the capital city.
Phùng Hưng Mural Street: Artistic Haven in Hanoi
Phùng Hưng Mural Street stretches from Phan Đình Phùng Street to Hàng Bông Street, once part of the fortifications outside the eastern wall of the Nguyễn Dynasty's Thăng Long Imperial Citadel. The street runs parallel to the railway viaduct, featuring French-style houses perched atop the ancient citadel wall, retaining their moss-covered tiled roofs, square chimneys, and small attic windows resembling dovecoats.

The Phùng Hưng Mural Street project in Hanoi, realized by Korean and Vietnamese artists starting from November 3, 2017, and inaugurated on February 2, 2018, has drawn many tourists and locals alike for sightseeing and photography.

Strolling along Phùng Hưng Mural Street, indulging in the artistic and aesthetic portrayals of streets, architectural projects, or images of traditional Vietnamese áo dài dresses imbued with nostalgia, makes you feel like stepping back in time to old Hanoi.

Seventeen arches of the old bridge at Phung Hung were adorned with murals depicting general stores, street vendors, trams, calligraphy masters, or elegant women in flowing ao dai dresses, creating a reminiscent space of an ancient Hanoi, a serene and gentle Hanoi.

With just over 200m in length, the mural street is a cultural exchange point with the surrounding Dong Xuan market, Hang Luoc street, Hang Ma street. Here, visitors can enjoy various entertainment activities, participate in gameshows, and have fun.
The murals carry imprints from ancient to modern times, especially images closely related to Hanoi such as general stores, female street vendors, clunky trams, calligraphy masters... on the bridge arches evoke beautiful memories of Hanoi.

Visitors checking in here will take home superb and exquisite paintings imbued with the soul of each street into the photo. Admiring artistic photos while being immersed in the nostalgia of outdoor games will make visitors feel much more excited about the scenery here.
