LG's Latest 88-Inch OLED: 33 Million Pixels, 4 Times the Clarity of Standard 4K TVs
Just ahead of the IFA 2018 expo, the South Korean giant unveiled the world's first OLED 8K TV, boasting an impressive 88-inch display. Compared to regular 4K TVs, the OLED 8K screen features over 4 times as many pixels, reaching a whopping 33 million, thanks to its 7,680 x 4,320 pixel resolution. The price for this pioneering TV hasn't been disclosed yet, but it's estimated to be no less than $100,000, considering LG's 77-inch 4K OLED model is priced over $20,000.

The First 88-Inch OLED 8K TV Emerges After the Introduction of OLED 8K Panels in Early 2018
Featuring a sleek bezel design with a glass panel screen, OLED sets itself apart from LCD LED and QLED by utilizing individual pixel illumination, achieving high contrast and absolute black. Despite the nascent stage of the 8K TV market, with estimated sales of only 60,000 units this year, South Korean manufacturers project this segment to reach 5 million units by 2022. Specifically for OLED, 2018 is forecasted to see sales of 2.5 million units, doubling from the previous year, with a promising outlook of surpassing 9 million units over the next 5 years. LG remains the dominant OLED TV manufacturer with a current market share of 92%, having commercialized OLED since 2013. Beyond South Korean manufacturers, others like Sony, Panasonic, and more have also shifted from LCD LED to OLED in their premium lineups over the past two years.
