Gone are the days of junior high, half naive, half foolish, every day clad in white shirts, red scarves, and backpacks swinging to school. Back then, we assumed ourselves as children, hardly knowing what worry meant, thinking mostly about studying and playing. But today, stepping into high school for the first time, there have been significant changes invisible within me.
Amidst a classroom, over forty students, I felt utterly unfamiliar and somewhat bewildered, wanting to retreat into a small corner, of course not as a first grader with the intention to cry anymore. But the feeling of being bewildered still lingered in my mind. The first day I stepped into high school was also my first school opening ceremony in high school. Compared to the sparsely populated junior high school yard with a few hundred students, this high school yard with nearly 2000 students made me feel overwhelmed. Boys dressed neatly in uniforms, looking bright and fresh, while our group of girls experienced a new feeling in our pristine white ao dai uniforms, and we no longer wore red scarves. Truly, I was still not accustomed to wearing ao dai much, but I still found it beautiful and felt proud to wear the lovely ao dai that my mother had made since last month...(Continued)
