When reading this poem, how do you feel? For me, after reading this masterpiece, I feel extremely proud and affectionate towards this beloved S-shaped land. It can be said that the poem has left a profound impression on me about the natural scenery, rivers, mountains, and Vietnamese people. Firstly, the poem begins with the image of 'vast rice fields'. The endless rice fields have affirmed the richness and abundance across the countryside. Next, the image of 'misty clouds covering the Truong Son range' is vividly depicted. The Truong Son range appears with majestic yet poetic beauty. From the beautiful scenery, Nguyen Dinh Thi continues to 'paint' the image of the Vietnamese people with various virtues and good qualities. They are hardworking farmers, resilient and courageous in fighting against foreign invaders. Not only that, they also possess a loyal and unyielding heart, 'loving whoever loves with complete loyalty'. Thus, through familiar and intimate images, simple words combined with various rhetorical devices such as comparisons 'Are there more beautiful rice fields than this?', personification 'Vietnam, our beloved country', poet Nguyen Dinh Thi has successfully depicted the beauty of our beloved country.
