+ Word Repetition:
1. Underline the repeated words in the passage:
“Bamboo, resisting bamboo against enemy steel. Bamboo charge into tanks, artillery. Bamboo guards villages, guards water, guards makeshift shelters, guards ripe rice fields. Bamboo sacrifices to protect humans. Bamboo, labor heroes! Bamboo, combat heroes!”.
“Folklore often contains many imaginative details, so I really enjoy reading folklore.”
2. The repetition of the word bamboo serves as a means of expressive repetition (anaphora). In sentence 2, the repetition of the phrase folklore makes the sentence cumbersome.
