Despite their age, some Apple products are still actively sold and not considered obsolete, as they lack successors.

Over nearly two decades, Apple has developed and introduced countless products. Among them, many devices have been around for a while but are still available for purchase on the official website.

Here are 5 Apple products and accessories that have remained unchanged for several years. This list excludes previous generation Apple products that are still available for sale, such as the iPhone 13, or products that have seen minimal updates, like the SuperDrive optical drive.

Discover the iconic iMac

Apple ceased upgrading the iMac since April 2021, featuring the M1 chip, a 24-inch display, ultra-thin bezels, and a choice of 7 vibrant colors. It's known that the successor iMac with the M3 chip is slated for production by late 2023 or early 2024.

According to Bloomberg's editor Mark Gurman, Apple has also been testing larger iMacs, including a model with approximately a 32-inch display. This product is expected to debut by late 2024 or possibly sometime in 2025.

Explore AirPods Max

Launched in late 2020, Apple's premium over-ear headphones are approaching their 3rd anniversary. These Apple headphones have seen no successor in the past 3 years and are currently available for $549 USD with 5 different color options.

As per analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the 2nd generation of AirPods Max might hit the market in the latter half of 2024 or the first half of 2025, accompanied by some fresh color options.

The 2nd generation of AirPods Max will be upgraded to the H2 chip, enhancing noise cancellation, adding transparency mode, improving hearing aid (assistive listening) capabilities, introducing skin detection sensors, extending battery life, and more. The new headphones will also support USB-C charging.

If not absolutely necessary, you should wait until the release of AirPods Max 2. Nevertheless, AirPods Max remains a worthwhile purchase at this juncture, or users may consider the newly launched Beats Studio Pro, as it offers a more reasonable price point.

Explore HomePod Mini

Introduced in November 2020, the HomePod Mini smart speaker is another Apple product nearing its third anniversary. This product is still available for $99 USD and has not received any hardware upgrades since its launch, although new color options including blue, orange, and yellow were added in November 2021.

The new HomePod mini is scheduled to be released in the latter half of 2024. Earlier this year, Apple activated temperature and humidity sensors on the first-generation HomePod mini, allowing users to utilize this feature while awaiting the new model.

Experience the Pro Display XDR

Apple released the Pro Display XDR in December 2019, making it nearly 4 years old by the end of this year. This premium Apple monitor boasts a 32-inch size and 6K resolution but lacks built-in speakers. The starting price for this product is $4999 USD (approximately 120 million VND).

Last year, Gurman revealed that Apple is developing several new standalone monitors, including a successor to the Pro Display XDR with an Apple silicon chip, similar to the Studio Display with the A13 chip. However, it remains unclear when the 2nd generation Pro Display XDR will be released, as well as whether it will integrate any other new features.

Apple Pencil 2

Ranked last on the list is the Apple Pencil 2, released in October 2018. The second-generation Apple Pencil has been improved with magnetic charging and automatic pairing. Its debut last year showcased the Apple Pencil 2's ability to draw/write without necessarily needing to touch down, thanks to intuitive touch sensitivity and support for double-tap gestures. The Scribble feature even automatically expands the writing frame when your pen approaches the screen.

While this device may seem outdated, Apple doesn't seem to have intentions of producing the Apple Pencil 3 yet. Who knows, Apple might release a product in the near future.
