The 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2023, themed 'Buon Ma Thuot - Destination of the Coffee World,' will take place from March 10th to 14th, 2023, in Buon Ma Thuot City and several localities in Dak Lak Province. This is an opportunity to promote the Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand, develop Vietnamese specialty coffee, gradually establish Buon Ma Thuot as a global coffee destination, contribute to enhancing the value and affirming the position of Vietnamese coffee in the world market, and honor coffee growers, processors, and businesses. The festival is also an opportunity for Dak Lak to introduce the province's tourism image, potential, and strengths, as well as to promote and attract investment in coffee business, processing, and other agricultural products in the province.

This festival will feature 18 main activities and some activities in response to festivals from other localities such as: Opening ceremony, International trade connection conference, Street festival, Farmer competition, Light festival, Exhibition and contest of ornamental creatures, Buon Don Elephant Festival, Traditional wooden boat race in Lak district. Additionally, the festival includes many activities to honor the coffee industry such as: Coffee industry trade fair, Vietnam specialty coffee development workshop, Art photo exhibition with the themes 'Vietnamese coffee culture' and 'History of world coffee', Specialty coffee brewing competition, Free coffee day, Artisanal products from coffee tree competition, Video clip competition introducing Buon Ma Thuot coffee. Besides, Dak Lak province also organizes experiential tours and explores new tourism products, performs the drama 'Desire of Dam San' to serve tourists.

Compared to the 7th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2019, the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival features new and different activities such as: Light festival, Video clip competition introducing Buon Ma Thuot coffee, and performance of the drama 'Desire of Dam San'. This time, the Organizing Committee does not use elephants for the street festival and parade. Instead, international artistic delegations are invited to participate, parading to fit the street festival theme 'Buon Ma Thuot - Convergence of three coffee civilizations.'
