By default, Facebook allows everyone connected as friends to post on your wall. However, to avoid scenarios where others visit your Facebook wall for advertising or negative comments, you can set it up to prevent friends from posting on your wall.
How to Restrict Posts from Friends on Facebook Wall
Step 1: To prevent others from posting on your Facebook wall, first, log in to your personal Facebook page. Click on the arrow icon at the top right of the Facebook interface and select Settings
Step 2: The Facebook account settings interface opens. Here, click on the Timeline and Tagging Settings as shown below.
Step 3: The Timeline and Tagging Settings interface opens. Here, click on Edit corresponding to Who can post on your timelines?
Step 4: Choose who can post on your timeline with two options for you.
- Friends: Allows friends to post on your Facebook wall.
- Only me: Permits only you to post; others cannot post on your Facebook wall.
If you want to prevent others from posting on your Facebook wall, select the Only me option and click Close to finish.
Congratulations, you have successfully configured the setting to restrict others from posting. You can use another Facebook account (if available) to check if the setting has been activated. If you want to disable this setting and allow friends to post normally, simply repeat the steps above and choose Friends in step 4.
