The issue of continuous spam invitations flooding the Calendar related to discount events such as Black Friday, Christmas, New Year, etc., along with suspicious links leading to fake websites, is not uncommon for iOS users.
While waiting for Apple to address this, let's take matters into our own hands. Here are some ways to help you block spam emails in your iPhone's Calendar.
Blocking Spam Emails in Calendar on iPhone
Method 1: Disable Calendar on iCloud
This is a drastic measure, but if you don't use the Calendar feature on your device, turn it off to avoid spam. Here's how you can do it.
For iOS, go to Settings => iCloud. Then, under Calendars, toggle the switch to turn off this feature on your device.
Method 2: Transfer Calendar Invitations to Email
If you still need to use Calendar and just want to filter out spam invitations within the app, access iCloud web version HERE. Log in to your account and click on the Calendar icon.
Next, click on the gear icon at the bottom left corner, select Preferences.
In the displayed menu, choose the Advanced tab. Under Invitations, click on the Email to [your email address] checkbox. Then, press Save to save your settings.
All Calendar invitations will be directly forwarded to your email inbox, and you won't receive annoying notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac anymore.
Method 3: Create a New Calendar
This is the most intricate solution for dealing with complex spam invitations. Open the Calendar app. Click on the Calendars button at the bottom and select Edit.
Next, choose Add Calendar to create a new calendar. You can rename it and choose a color, then press Done.
Move all spam invitations to a new calendar and then delete that calendar by clicking on the Calendars button at the bottom and selecting Edit.
Choose the calendar you want to delete and press the Delete Calendar button at the bottom.
This won't notify the senders of the spam invitations. While this is a situational measure, it will help you deal with annoying spam invitations on your iPhone.
