iPhone users are likely very familiar with downloading apps from the App Store. When searching for an app and visiting its description page, besides tapping Get to download, you can also preview a wealth of information about the app by scrolling through the details section.
Sharing with iOS users how to preview information about In-App Purchases and user privacy data before deciding to download an app from the App Store.
Preview In-App Purchases Before Downloading an App
Many iOS and iPadOS apps offer In-App Purchases options, allowing users to unlock or purchase additional items and features within the app after downloading. However, there's still a way to preview these items or features before downloading the app.
To do so, go to the App Store, search for the app you want to download, and visit its description page. Let's search for the game Candy Crush.
Swipe down to the Information section, then click on the In-App Purchases line.
This will immediately display all items and features available for purchase and unlocking within the game in a list with specific prices listed next to them.
This information will help us preview the In-App Purchases items to decide whether to purchase them later or whether to download the app at all? Especially if downloading the game for children to play 😁App Data Collection Information
This is a new feature recently implemented by Apple on its App Store, known as 'iOS app privacy labels.' Within the app description page, there's a section providing details about user privacy rights, including the data collected by the app and how this information is used. This has also sparked recent debates between Facebook and Apple. Also on the app description page on the App Store, when scrolling down, you'll find the App Privacy section divided into 3 parts:- Data for tracking purposes: Information used to monitor your activities
- Data associated with you: Information linked to our profiles
- Data not associated with you: Information not linked to our profiles
Click on See Details to view more detailed information. This is where we understand the changes the app will make and the information it collects.
