Most smartphones today come with built-in spam blocking features. However, the increasing sophistication of spammers makes default features less effective. Zenfone users can employ Laban SMS, similar to how Samsung users block Samsung spam messages.
- Download Laban SMS: Laban SMS
1. Set up rules on Laban SMS
From the Settings Menu (three horizontal dashes), choose Blocking Rules as shown below.
Laban SMS supports number blocking, keyword blocking, and adding message keywords. Choose the appropriate option (2) or combine all three functions simultaneously for high effectiveness. Toggle on/off by tapping the 'X' icon (1) as shown below.

2. Enter information to block
After setting up blocking rules, you'll need to enter information. If using phone number blocking, input the phone number; if using keyword blocking, input the keyword. For example, if you often receive spam messages about beautiful SIM cards, you can choose keyword blocking and enter the keyword 'Sim so dep' then press OK.
Confirm the filter... press OK again.
Additionally, you can block messages from specific phone numbers. While not as universal as the previous method, it is quite effective. The numbers you block won't be able to send spam messages to you anymore.
