Passengers can purchase excess baggage in advance when booking affordable flights to Qatar. Alternatively, it can be done up to 3 hours before the scheduled departure mentioned on the ticket. Pre-purchased baggage is only valid for the specified flight and date shown on the baggage purchase receipt.
Qatar Airways Extra Baggage Purchase Regulations
Excess baggage is provided when luggage exceeds the free baggage allowance, clearly stated in your booking confirmation and ticket. This excess baggage is charged per kilogram, excluding travel to/from the Americas.
Passengers can buy a minimum of 5kg per transaction, up to a maximum of 100kg. A single piece of luggage must not weigh more than 32kg (70 lb) or exceed the total dimensions of 158 cm (62 in) – the sum of length + width + height. If your luggage exceeds 32kg, you must divide it to ensure each piece is under 32kg.
Excess baggage purchase is applicable only for flights operated by Qatar Airways and is exclusive to tickets issued by Qatar Airways. The excess baggage fee is calculated per passenger on each leg of the journey. The journey is determined from the point of departure to the destination, excluding transfer points.
