In a recent conversation, Qualcomm Chairman Cristiano Amon said that the Apple M1 chip is a positive development, proving Qualcomm's direction is correct. 'We are extremely pleased with that announcement (the emergence of Apple M1). Extremely happy. And kudos to Apple for helping validate our belief. It proves that mobile users are defining what they want with the PC experience.'Amon also stated that Apple's transition to ARM chips has propelled the entire chip industry forward. 'When you add Apple to this conversation, you start to see the entire ecosystem shift. An example of this: I believe just last week Adobe introduced a series of their applications, all native to the ARM chip. And when you go native, performance goes up and compatibility also increases. Overall, this is a positive sign. The ecosystem is moving forward, and it shows that Microsoft and Qualcomm are on the right track.'Qualcomm emphasizes that ARM chips in computers will lead to longer battery life, improved continuous connectivity, and will deliver a vastly different experience compared to what current computers can achieve.Source: The Verge
