According to the second quarter 2022 financial report, Qualcomm has recorded a revenue increase of over 41%, reaching $11.16 billion compared to the same period last year. The company's chip sales reached $9.55 billion, up 52% from the same period. Revenue from technology licensing amounted to $1.58 billion, down 2% from the same period last year.Additionally, Qualcomm expects to earn a profit of $2.75 billion to $2.95 billion per share in the third quarter with revenue of around $10.9 billion. This forecast is higher than Wall Street's expected target of $9.98 billion.
All four main chip markets of Qualcomm witnessed growth in the second financial quarter of 2022. Specifically:- Handheld devices, Qualcomm's largest chip market, saw a 56% growth compared to the same period last year, reaching $6.33 billion. It seems that the slowdown in smartphone sales has not yet affected this Android chip manufacturer.
