The Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2013, jointly organized by the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will take place from June 22-26 in Hoi An and various locations throughout the province. The festival comprises a series of cultural, artistic, sports, tourism, and investment promotion activities of national and international significance.
The festival is expected to attract the participation of 18 provinces and cities with heritage sites and biosphere reserves recognized by UNESCO. The opening and closing ceremonies of the Quang Nam Heritage Festival will showcase the rich culture and traditions of the Quang people through performances of traditional 'bai choi' singing and recitals.
The Quang Nam Heritage Festival features a variety of activities:
- Exhibition of Vietnam and ASEAN cultural heritage spaces
- 3rd International Choir Competition
- Miss Ethnic Vietnam pageant, ethnic art festival
- Cham Cultural Day
- International workshops on intangible cultural heritage conservation…
The activities will be held in various localities throughout Quang Nam Province. Among them, Hoi An City has been selected as the venue for 8 out of 13 activities.
